Mike Missroon and Megan Walsh didn't want a typical wedding entrance, so they skipped the aisle entirely and jumped from a plane instead.
The couple, along with their officiant, best man, maid of honor, bridesmaids and groomsmen, skydived from 14,000 feet and fell at 120 mph before landing and exchanging vows in the landing zone on July 26. Walsh told PEOPLE the pair met when Missroon was her tandem instructor and later got engaged mid-skydive, so working the sport into their wedding felt inevitable. Walsh even thrifted and modified her own wedding dress, cutting holes for leg straps and adding a drawstring so it wouldn't blow up during the fall.
Guests who couldn't jump still got a piece of the day: wooden airplane favors stamped with the couple's wedding date as a tail number. The two now run Skydive Seneca Lake in upstate New York, the same place where they met, fell in love and got engaged.
