A five-year-old boy slipped off a balcony in Giza, Egypt, and a young man standing below caught him before he reached the ground.
Video shows Ahmed Ragab, who was outside his father's shop in the Ard El-Lewa area, hearing shouting and spotting the child above him. A washing line slowed the fall, giving Ragab a few extra seconds to get underneath and catch the boy in his arms. The child survived without serious injuries.
Ragab has played down the hero label, saying everything happened too fast for him to think about whether he could reach the boy, though the clip has been praised well beyond Egypt.
