A new batch of guerrilla art has popped up outside famous New York City cinemas, and it's a vending machine with a very specific target.
The machines, branded Grokbuster, sell DVDs with famous movie titles reworked to mock billionaire Elon Musk. Each carries a QR code that leads to the "movie," which is really a link to an article about Musk's failures and political ventures. "The Fraud and the Furious" covers a class-action lawsuit over Tesla's self-driving cars, while "Gone with the Grid" covers his fight against pollution regulations affecting his AI data centers, Mashable reported.
The group behind the machines is anonymous. An earlier Grokbuster machine appeared at SXSW in Austin in March, handing out DVDs titled "Elon's Epstein Files" that led to a searchable database of Epstein emails, Roastbrief reported. Security experts urged festivalgoers to be careful scanning QR codes from unknown sources.
