A Waymo van in Orlando has people rethinking their next robotaxi ride after a video appeared to show it rolling through a red light.
The clip, posted to Threads by user @melisaunfiltered, shows the self-driving van inching into the intersection of Kirkman Road and Carrier Drive near Universal Orlando while the light is red, continuing through despite cross traffic, and changing lanes mid-intersection as the light turns green. WKMG reported the post had more than 670,000 views by Monday evening, with many commenters saying they would be nervous riding in one.
Another user shared a photo of what appeared to be the same van, with the same license plate, stopped at a green light on Sand Lake Road days earlier, and a separate video appeared to show a similar van running a red at the same intersection last week. Waymo told the station it is investigating, and the station's crew saw other Waymos in the area following signals normally.
