David Rush has more than 200 Guinness World Records, and his latest involves letting a teenager throw paper airplanes at his face.

The Idaho serial record-breaker teamed up with his 13-year-old niece, Ali, to catch 20 paper planes in his mouth in one minute, topping the previous record of 17. UPI reported their first official attempt ended at 14 before the second try cleared the mark. Rush had put the record on hold for years after learning that taking the point of a paper plane to the face is painful, and eventually found a blunter design that still stung but was merely painful and not dangerous.

Rush says Ali had an edge from her first throw thanks to a higher release angle and a steady delivery, which makes sense for a top-tier soccer goalie. They spent a day drilling hundreds of throws before attempting the record, which Guinness lists as achieved on June 29, 2026, in Stanley, Idaho.
