A homecoming king in eastern Pennsylvania lasted about as long as it took to put the crown on someone else.
At the districtwide pep rally at Mahanoy Area Junior-Senior High School in Mahanoy City on Friday, Oct. 16, video shot by Dawn Bowers shows finalists Keny Cedanio Ramirez and Axton Kuhla waiting for the result with Ramirez's arm around Kuhla. When Ramirez was announced as the winner and handed the crown and sash, Local 12 reported he walked over and put them on Kuhla, a classmate with Down syndrome.
The audience erupted in cheers as Kuhla wiped away tears, and the clip has since gone viral across social media.
