Leah Shutkever just took back a title that wasn't hers anymore.
The professional competitive eater inhaled a 1.35-pound burrito in just 30.75 seconds at Guinness World Records headquarters in London, reclaiming the record she first set in 2019 and lost to fellow speed eater Miki Sudo in 2022. Guinness confirmed the new record, which beat Sudo's previous mark of 31.47 seconds. Shutkever now holds 42 Guinness World Records to her name.
She says the competitiveness is part of what keeps her coming back, joking that she's "silly, bold, and brazen enough" to put herself in the firing line for records like this one.
