Miley Cyrus used her first major show in years to pay tribute to her late godmother, Dolly Parton, and she did not make it through without tears.
At the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Friday, Oct. 16, Cyrus told the crowd the only time she had watched Parton perform live as a fan was at that same venue. Parton had invited her onstage that night, but Cyrus wanted to experience it from the audience, and Parton announced from the stage that her famous goddaughter was in the crowd anyway. ABC News reported that Cyrus broke down as she said she feels Parton's presence more than ever since her death in August at age 80.
She then performed "Jolene" as an image of her "Aunt Dolly" appeared behind her, and later held up a heart-shaped framed photo of Parton. Variety reported she told the crowd, "Me and Dolly, we are eternal."
