A Texas woman's first drone delivery did not go as planned.
Lindsey Austen ran outside after hearing a loud buzzing over her Richmond, Texas, home, camera ready, only to watch an Amazon Prime Air drone hover directly over her pool and release her package straight into the water. An Amazon spokesperson told Mashable incidents like this are "extremely rare" and said the company uses each one to improve the delivery experience. Nothing was damaged and no one was hurt, though Austen said she isn't eager for another drone delivery anytime soon.
The mishap surfaced the same week Amazon announced Prime Air would expand to roughly 500 more U.S. cities and towns, and it's not the company's first pool-related delivery mix-up either.
